Company expands Biolace, Fibrella and Genesis lines
September 29, 2022
By: Tara Olivo
Associate Editor at Nonwovens Industry
Suominen has expanded its offerings under the Biolace, Fibrella and Genesis names. Biolace Cashmere is Suominen’s most premium spunlace product providing exceptional softness combined with great make-up removing and facial cleaning properties. Biodegradable, compostable, and plastic-free Biolace Cashmere is part of Suominen’s sustainable portfolio. Environmental awareness and hypoallergenic claims are rising as consumers’ focus on eco and natural products. Biolace Cashmere utilizes natural fibers in many hypoallergenic products today, providing exceptional care for sensitive skin. “We are extremely pleased with all the feedback we have received about Biolace Cashmere and the perceived luxury it provides. It is important for us to provide nonwovens to the market that will enable end-users to pamper themselves coming out the pandemic,” says Jon Arendt, senior manager, Category Management. Biolace Cashmere is available in North America and Europe. Meanwhlie, Suominen has launched an improved product as part of its Fibrella product family. Suominen was able to raise the bar with this product by offering superior pattern retention for enhanced cleaning capabilities, as well as softness for superior comfort. “Fibrella Strata is a combination of everything you need for effective cleaning with excellent opacity at a lower basis weight. Due to its excellent stability and great strength profile, it is perfect for easy converting and one-at-a-time dispensing, saving time and money. Its unique tri-layer structure makes it stand out on the market,” explains Tara Millar, manager, Category Management, Americas. Fibrella Strata is an innovative product designed for the baby, personal care, household, medical, and industrial markets in mind. Although suitable for a multitude of industries and applications, Fibrella Strata offers especially for the baby market a premium nonwoven with a high-definition patterning in a multi-layer structure while delivering exceptional softness and cleaning performance. Fibrella Strata’s composite structure makes it ideal to convert, as the structure helps provide a better MD:CD (machine direction to cross direction) ratio compared to many standard spunlace products. It also can maintain the pattern when wet to help retain its cleaning performance and bulk softness. For the industrial market, Suominen offers the Genesis cleaning activity product line that’s known for its durability, fluid management and sustainable wood pulp content. With Genesis Pro, Suominen extends the attributes of Genesis products to the heavy duty cleaning needs of the workplace and industrial segments. The new additions to the Genesis portfolio will add recommended use cases for the product line. The thicker Genesis Pro 70GSM is aimed for heavier cleaning areas such as workplace and institutional segments. The Genesis 35GSM, on the other hand, has the same solid attributes of Genesis range, but at a lighter basis weight makes it ideal for delicate cleaning needs in the household. “Both new products complement the existing Genesis range and each other as well, as they reinforce the effectiveness and value the whole Genesis line is renowned for. The Genesis Pro has been designed with heavy duty cleaning needs in mind, while the new Genesis 35GSM is aimed at light duty cleaning tasks,” explains Andrew Charleston, manager, Category Management, Americas.
